Beefcake Volleyball & Bon Fire

 Zane didn't end up playing in the Beefcake volleyball because he hasn't been feeling well since Wednesday night.  He got chilled at football practice & then also helped coach the Powderpuff football (it was soooo cold!).  He said he never warmed up.

 Brienna was one of the line judeges for the Beefcake games.

 I knew Zane wasn't feeling well when he fell asleep at 9:30 last night.  And then he came home at lunch to get a shirt to wear under his football jersey & also put on his sweatshirt.  

 Plus, the classes were working on their homecoming floats the last hour of the day & he just laid down on a bench & slept.  (This is the sophomore boys--minus one)

 The scariest time of my life by far.

Callum's Birthday & Homecoming Week

 It's Homecoming Week again--and Brienna's a senior!  Monday was Twin Day.  Lindsay & Brienna were awesome hippie twins :)

 Tuesday was Celebrity Day--Callum was Si Robertson (Duck Dynasty).  He shaved his beard for a hot doughnut ;)

Today was Gender Swap day (Gender Bender).  I didn't get a picture of Zane, but both Callum & Zane "won" today.  They both wore heels, wigs, & Zane wore tights (and was color-coordinated).

Then this evening was Powder Puff Football.   Good thing we play 6-man, because we had 7 seniors on the orange team, & 6 underclass girls on the other team.

warm-ups.  It was stinking freezing today!  and so by 6:30, it was frigid!  About 45 degrees with wind!

It is 10:30 & I have finally thawed out!  I am going to have to find my long johns & other warm clothes for the homecoming game on Friday--weather is supposed to be about the same!

It was dark when they finished--Seniors won, 8-0.

Callum's Birthday celebration--after the powder puff game.  And Rusty had the 2 youngest at Pack Meeting tonight.  They had a bike rodeo--out in the cold!  So everyone was cold tonight.  (Brienna & Zane took hot baths!)

My camera was acting up after the game (maybe it was too cold) so I had to use my iPod camera.

I love his laugh & smile!  Happy 13th birthday!  

We had hot dogs & homemade mac & cheese for dinner.  And for his "cake"--we had cheese cake.  He put strawberries on while the others had cherry (or plain).  I made 2 this time so everyone could have some.  Actually I made a 3rd one, but w/my coconut sugar & not in the crust.

Tomorrow is black & orange day, so no costumes needed!  What a busy, crazy week.

Making my Heart Soar!

Tomorrow is our Primary Sacrament program & Emmalee & Ben have been practicing their parts.  Tonight when I was putting Ben to bed, I heard him whispering his part as he drifted off to sleep:  "I....know.......I am a.......child...of...........God."  (and then he was asleep)

And I didn't know if Ben knew most of the songs we have learned until I had the cd playing in the background & he started singing with all of the songs.  He definitely knows the songs!  What a cutie!

Fall Happiness

Fall weather makes me happy.  I love that the weather has turned cooler--although it did snow in the mountains the other morning.  

I love the cooler days (I just hope we don't get snow this early).  I would be so happy if we could have 4, or 6, or even 8 weeks of "Fall" weather:  cool nights (40's or 50's) & nice cool/comfortable days (60's or at the most, low 70's).  

 Seeing Ben be so cute makes me happy.  Ben wearing the basketball hoop toy--He said he could wear this for Halloween.

 When my kids get along & are being silly makes me happy.  Emmalee is a basketball hoop!

 This makes me EXTREMELY happy!!  A fixed washer!  I tested it out Friday night to make sure it works--and it does!

 Baking on a cool Autumn morning makes me happy.  I made chocolate chip muffins (Ben requested these) but I just used a "new" recipe & they were quite dry.  Next time I will add apple sauce to make them moist.  The other kind is a pear muffin.  I used my coconut sugar so I could eat them.  And I used twice the amount of pears that the recipe called for.  They were super delicious & moist!  

Rusty made 3 different kinds of jerky & they finished drying on Friday.  They were all yummy--I think the favorite was the hot & spice, then the onion mixture & then the teriyaki.  The teriyaki one just needed more flavoring, otherwise that would have been better.

Today I am going to go on a date with Rusty--which always includes shopping (not my favorite thing to do on a date, but what you have to do when you live an hour away from town).  But we are going to eat Chinese (another thing that makes me happy!)

Ethan also is on a date today.  He is officially in a "relationship" with a girl he met at BYU-I before his mission.  Her name is Tiffany & she if from Florida.  She was in his Family Home Evening group a couple of years ago. I have learned that she did write to him pretty consistently while he was on his mission.  And when he came back, they started talking to each other (mostly chatting on facebook) for hours, and hours, and hours ;)  

Ben listening the first time also makes me happy.

And this week, Ben went to school 1 day without me at all!!!  That really made me happy.
