Prom 2014

I have been missing in action for a while.  Life seems to have been getting the best of me lately.  I thought things would slow down after the wedding--but they didn't!

So here are the prom pictures from the last Saturday of April (the 26th)
Beautiful dress!  (Ben's hiding behind her)
The back of the dress.  It was a rainy weekend--pretty much rained since Thursday.  So it was damp & humid & her hair didn't hold the curl very well.
Brienna went to prom with Jake Mickelsen.  He is such a great young man!
Ready to get to the dance!
Brienna has always been beautiful--but she has been working hard since the beginning of the year (exercising & eating healthy) & has lost a lot of weight!
With one of her best friends--Amber Christensen.
The dress she found was half the size of last year's dress!  so happy for her!
At the dance with Brandi Stone.
We don't have a ton of kids in our school--so 15 couples is a great turn out for Prom!
How Jake asked her to prom--she had to give him the cupcake with her answer.  And she said, "Heck Yes!"  They had a fun time in town bowling, watching a movie & eating at The Stockman.

Ethan & Tiffany's Wedding--April 12, 2014

I haven't posted anything from the month of March because I have been busy preparing for this special day!
Most of the guys from the wedding:  Grandpa Carter, Rusty (Dad), Zane, Ethan, Austin (Best friend/man), Callum & Grandpa Stewart.  Ben in front--the sun was in his eyes ;)
Bridesmaids with the bride--Jessica (friend from Nebraska), Brienna, Tiffany, Jillian (maid of honor) & Tatianna
The car--full of ballons & decorated by the siblings & friends.
Tiffany & Ethan cutting the cake (made by Rylan Bitter--who baptized Tiffany)
 Tiffany, Ethan & Emmalee
 Ethan & his best man--Austin
Ethan & Tiffany across the river--beautiful view!
 Tiffany's traveling outfit--by their cake.
 The Stewart family!
 Tiffany & Ethan kissing Ben.
Rusty & me with the newlyweds
Tiffany's mom, Ruthy, with the new bride.  What a wonderful & beautiful day!

Play Dough Trial

I had found a recipe on Pinterest (love finding ideas here!) for a play dough using hair conditioner & corn starch.
so we decided to give the recipe a try one Sunday afternoon.
It was nice to the skin (sort-of) but it was super messy.
we could never get the correct consistency--either sticking to the table or too dry.
Plus, the corn startch has that "chalky" texture (which can give me the shivers!) so I didn't like playing with it that much.
So I let the kids to to play with it the rest of the day, and then we tossed it out.  Sadly, I bought enough corn starch & conditioner to make another 3 or 4 batches.  But on the happy side, now I don't need to buy corn starch or conditioner for a while!

Wedding Flowers

Tiffany wants Pamela & I to make the flowers for the wedding.  It has turned out to be a bit harder than I first imagined.  The flowers covering Pamela's table.
I went to her house March 6th-8th to work on them.  We didn't get them finished, but we did get a lot done.
We had to take some of the flowers apart & make "new" ones.  We didn't have a lot of navy colored flowers (couldn't find them at any of the craft stores).
Tiffany's bouquet so far.  I guess I'm just being quite picky, but I am not happy with it yet.
Plus I will be making some bows & putting them on the flowers.  Less than a month now so I'd better get busy!

Donkey Basketball

Brienna was asked to be on a team to play donkey basketball. It was a fundraiser for the Rodeo Team that her friend, Josey Grover is a member of (we don't have a rodeo team, so she has to go to West Jefferson--Terreton to compete).
So Brienna went to Terreton & got on a donkey!  She said she had fun--I didn't go, but Rusty & the 2 older boys went.
 Go Brienna!
Looks like fun!  I remember watching a donkey basketball game when I was growing up in Lander.
Brienna's team:  Brienna, Lindsay Farr, Selina Hernandez, Mariah Farr, & Amber Christensen.  All seniors except for Mariah.

Emmalee's Little Bobcats--Feb. 2014

Last month Emmalee finished up with Little Bobcats.  She had such a fun time & learned a lot.
 Here she is dribbling.
 shooting a jump shot
playing a game (she's in the blue on the right).  Callum is also on the court ("reffing")
Waiting for the Hoop Shoot (Zane was in charge of her group)
 Nice lay up!
 Shoot!
 Picking a prize--she made 4 out of 10 free-throws!
Love ya, Emma!

February Misc.

Ben was so excited to be able to eat the bowl that held his soup!  This is our Blue & Gold Banquet.
Emmalee chose to eat out of non-edible bowl & shared my bread bowl (she ate the inside).
If she wasn't so cute, she would be in more trouble than she receives!  (she can be quite the stubborn stinker, but we love her!)
Emmalee's Dubois town building.  Each year, the 3rd graders have to re-create a building from our town & give a report about why it's important to our community & how it contributes to our community.  Emmalee was assigned the LDS church.  She (& her daddy) did a great job!
The buildings also double as Valentine's boxes.  They have to make sure they make a way for the valentines to go inside (& to also get them out).
Since most of our snow had melted in mid-February, Ben wanted to ride his bike.
He bundles up to stay warm and on this day--I heard a knock on the door (thought he couldn't get in because of the bulkiness of his gloves) but saw him on the porch.  What a cutie!
