Veteran's Day Assembly 2011

Since we don't have school on Friday's, our Veteran's Day Assembly was today.
We always have an outstanding program.  Emmalee is sitting with her 1st grade class.
Rusty and his dad, Keith, sitting with the veterans.
The scouts at the flag ceremony--Callum is the one in the tan shirt on the front left & Zane is the tallest one in the back with the red neckerchief.
The veterans in our community--well some of them.
 Keith & Rusty
Ben going out to find his daddy.
Brienna giving her grandpa a hug.
Thanks to all our veterans!
Our school secretary has put together an amazing slide show about the veterans from our community--beginning with the civil war!  Thanks again!

3 Birthdays in 4 Days

Yep--we have 3 birthdays in 4 days.
 Mine is November 3rd.
Since I am sugar-free, I didn't make any dessert for me.  So the kids used a mini banana muffin that I made the night before (sugar-free).
Benjamin's Birthday is on the 5th.  And so is Grandma Marge's (so actually we have 4 birthdays in 4 days).
He was so excited to open the presents.  (I think he is acting like a dog?)

He loves Scooby Doo so Brienna made him a Scooby Doo card.
And he also loves Toy Story & legos--so he was excited to get a Toy Story lego set.
Hey--it's King Benjamin (from the Book of Mormon)

And what I love is that he still gets excited about getting clothes as a gift!
Brienna made a Ben a Buzz Lightyear cake.
He loved it!
Blowing out the candles--all 3 of them!
Awesome job!
Playing with his new legos set.

Rusty's birthday was the next day.
Since we still had cake from Ben's birthday, Rusty decided not to have a cake (yet).
I'll just make his cake next weekend.
Over the weekend, I sat down to play some of the new Christmas music I bought, but Emmalee wanted me to help her learn a couple new Christmas songs.
So she climbed on my lap.
This is a random picture:  Ethan sent his camera disk over the weekend, and it had postage due.  But we are lucky we actually got the disk!  The enveloped was ripped pretty good.  Thankfully someone had put tape over the rips so the disk made it home.
I told Ethan to make sure he used a padded envelope next time he sends it!
I am working on a blog for his mission.  I'll let you know when it's up!

More Homecoming, Hunting & Wood

Red Carpet day--Zane wearing his suit.
 Brienna in her formal
Sports day--Brienna wearing Zane's football jersey
 I didn't get a picture of Zane--he wore a different football shirt.
Nerd day--Zane and Brienna both won for their class.  I didn't get a picture of Brienna.
She leaves early for Seminary, and I don't always get to see her in the mornings.
And some mornings she even drives (for Driver's Ed.) at 6 am so she can still go to seminary (we have an awesome teacher that makes sure the kids can still make it to seminary)
Brienna (& Callum) at the victory bonfire (it was held after the game)
 Brienna & Callum
Karley, Josey & Brienna.
Zane laying next to a ginormous cow pie!  (Zane is on the left)--ha, ha!
What a view!   But they didn't see any game.
Brienna & Zane cleaning out the pig pen--can I say PU!

 Unloading our wood

Everyone was a good help and they actually all got along!

We will be warm this Winter!  (and Fall & Spring!)
