The elementary kids have a "Play Day" (which is really a track and field day) at the end of the year. This is the first year that I haven't had 2 kids in elementary school at the same time. (But thankfully they group siblings & cousins together so we just follow our group around)
This is Emmalee throwing the softballs.
Here is one of her long jumps.
Rusty is in charge of this event. They get 3 tries & have the best one recorded. Emmalee had fun doing all the events.
On to the tug-of-war. I love that she it the anchor for this round. They had boys vs. girls, 2nd & 3rd vs. 4th & 5th, Jan.-June birthdays vs. July-Dec. birthday, and adults vs. kids. The adults won--barely!
Pull Emmalee! She said this was her favorite event.
Benjamin found a lady bug and let it crawl up his arm.
On the hunt for more lady bugs.
Emmalee's broad jump. I love watching this one because they all look like frogs when they jump.
the 50 yard dash...
And the 100 yard dash. They also had an obstacle course that they run thru, but I took a video of that instead of photos. Maybe I'll see if I can get that uploaded later.
It was very, very, very windy (and cloudy) today. And it was cold enough that I wanted to wear a jacket, but too warm when I had it on. The kids were fine w/o jackets since they were active the whole time. I was fine when I was walking around, but it was the standing in one spot watching that got to me.
