Dec. recap--Part 3 (Brienna, b-ball, & cheer)

One more gingerbread house picture.
Brienna went to MORP  (Dec. 8th) with Tate Hillman from Hamer.  (He is in our stake & his grandparents are in our ward).  They (with another couple) went rock climbing in Idaho Falls and then went to the dance where they had an obstacle course bouncy house.  While on the bouncy house, she jumped & landed wrong on her foot.  When she came home & took off her shoe, her foot was really swollen.

Sunday I didn't get to look at it until later in the afternoon, but it still was bruised & swollen.  But Brienna said it didn't hurt that much, so she went to school on Monday.  At lunch she asked if I could drive her back to school because her foot was hurting her.  After school (and my piano lesson) she unwrapped it for me so I could see it--and it was sooooo swollen (she didn't want me to put a picture here so I won't).  I immediately called the doctor (it was 4:45 pm) and asked if I should take her in or could it wait until the morning.  They said to ice it & stay off it & they would squeeze her in at 8 on Tuesday morning.

The doctor was able to move her foot around so much that she really didn't think it was broken--and Brienna said it only hurt when she pushed down on top of the bruised area.  But to be safe, she sent me to get x-rays.  We had to wait for the results (for the doctor to see them) so I went shopping & ran the errands I needed to.  The doctor had convinced me it wasn't broken, so I slowly made my way to the west side of town (by the interstate) when I got the phone call from the doctor--and it WAS broken. (the base of the 5th metatarsal)
So we needed to get a walking cast for it--and the "brace" place (where Callum & Brienna both have been numerous times) is on the east side of town.  So we headed back there and she was fitted with a walking cast--which she will wear for 4 weeks, and then we'll get another x-ray to make sure it healed okay.
This the the "blue" flower (rose) Brienna received at her Young Women's in Excellence.  Her leaders wanted the parents to pick a flower that represents their daughter & say why they picked the flower.  (The theme was "Be your own kind of Beautiful") so we wanted a blue forget-me-not flower--blue because of Brienna's blue eyes, but they couldn't find that, so she received this blue rose.
I also picked the forget-me-not because of Pres. Uchtdorf's talk (click on his name to see the talk).  I shared a little bit about how Brienna is "true blue, thru & thru" too.
Zane's b-ball games.  I video when he's playing, so the still pictures are only pre-game & during time-outs.
I don't want to take the chance of missing a 3-pointer!  (he's made 6 so far this season).
During half time of one of the games, Emmalee was able to perform a few cheers she learned at a mini-Bobcat cheer camp.
The little girls were so cute!
She was so excited to do her cheers and kick her feet/legs high in the air.

Dec. recap--Part 2 (Ben, Gingerbread house, and concert)

Benjamin loves to have his picture taken every day.  Usually after I take the pictures he likes to look at it & says, "Awwww..."
 Benjamin "surfing" with the cat.
 Ben's footprint reindeer.
Cowboy Ben riding his cowboy stick-horse.
His funny face while cutting out sugar cookies.
 showing me his hand.
Sitting on Daddy's shoulders at Zan'e basketball game.
This is one way we try to entertain Ben when he is bored at the game.
 "Go Bobcats!"
Emmalee's gingerbread house she made at the Friday activity at school.
I asked if she wanted me to make room for it on the shelf for a Christmas decoration.  She said maybe after she shared it with Ben--and of course after they ate some, there wasn't much left.
the band (both Jr. & Sr. High) playing at one of the basketball games.  Callum is in the middle on the drums.  I videoed this so I didn't get a very good picture.
The high school band playing at their Christmas concert.
Zane on the trumpet & Brienna with her flute.
Zane and Brienna after the concert.
Zane & Brienna playing at the last basketball game (it was a varsity game so Zane wasn't playing) on Friday Dec. 21.  Callum was sitting on the stage with his friend, Weston.

Nativities 2012

My newest nativity--an early gift from Pamela.
 I think I have 76, but I didn't count again.
this is hard to see--it's a Precious Moments nativity ornament.
I like looking at this one at night--all light up.
Benjamin loves playing with this Little People nativity.
my other new nativity that Pamela gave me--snowmen.
the glass one (to the right of the small santa kneeling by baby Jesus) is on a lighted multi-color base.  I also like looking at this one at night with all the lights off except for the Christmas tree.
