Homecoming Dance

Brienna asked Jake to the Homecoming dance (she didn't want to go to the dance alone)
Brienna & Jake Mickelsen
after the football game, they went to Amber's house to eat tacos, & then came to our house to change.
Zane didn't want to go to the dance, but since he was royalty, he showed up.
Zane said he wasn't going to dance (or even go in from the hallway), but he showed up on the dance floor.
 Jake & Brienna dancing
Homecoming Royalty (from L to R--Freshman thru Senior)
Boys & girls:  Payton, Zane, Jorge, Chuy, Jennifer, Mariah, Dulce, Kami
 Zane & Dulce--Duke & Dutchess
Zane letting his true colors show.
I have to admit--my son is quite handsome!
After the dance, Brienna & Jake went to Amber's for a "paint" party.  The walls were covered with plastic & then the kids threw paint at each other (and silly string).
Brienna said this was the "funnest" (I know that's not a word) Homecoming week ever!

More Homecoming Football Game

There was a Junior High game before the Homecoming game--Callum is the manager.

Ben rode the tandem bike behind Dad (Rusty) to the game.
Emmalee "misses" having a turn--but she rode her own bike.
The national anthem--I just love seeing the football player lined up.
our band.--Brienna was a bit cold.  She says it hard to play a cold flute.
Ethan--keeping track of the downs.
#61
Uncle Ken & Uncle Skeeter (Rusty's brothers) were camping up Stoddard Creek (20 minutes north) so they came down to watch the game.
visiting with the Grovers.
Ben riding home on the bike (and Emmalee up ahead in the purple coat)
What a cutie!  My little man is growing up too quickly!
The teams walking back to the school to change & eat dinner.

Homecoming Parade & Football Game

Brienna & Lindsay--2 of my favorite seniors!
Brienna throwing candy from the senior float.
 Zane on the sophomore float--"Royalty"
Dulce & Zane on the float.
Ben had to wear one of the wigs that we had out from Gender Swap day.
Dulce with Zane during half time--Homecoming royalty.  Sophomore Dutchess & Duke.
Zane (in orange) playing during the game.  He had been sick since Wednesday (and the game was on Friday) so he wasn't 100%, but he still had a great game.  (Notice Ethan in the background holding the "downs" sign).
 it's official--they've been crowned!
And smiles that actually show teeth!  Yay!  I have to admit, my son is quite handsome ;)
I love watching Zane play football.  I enjoy it so much, I'm driving across the state to watch him play on Friday (Oct. 11th).  He plays in Fairfield, ID which is about 1 hour east of Boise.

Beefcake Volleyball & Bon Fire

Zane didn't end up playing in the Beefcake volleyball because he hasn't been feeling well since Wednesday night.  He got chilled at football practice & then also helped coach the Powderpuff football (it was soooo cold!).  He said he never warmed up.
Brienna was one of the line judeges for the Beefcake games.
I knew Zane wasn't feeling well when he fell asleep at 9:30 last night.  And then he came home at lunch to get a shirt to wear under his football jersey & also put on his sweatshirt.
Plus, the classes were working on their homecoming floats the last hour of the day & he just laid down on a bench & slept.  (This is the sophomore boys--minus one)
Zane at the bon fire.  I went with him so he could come home early.  (Plus I always have to get pictures!)
 Jake Mickelsen lighting the fire.
 Callum & his friend Leo.
I love that Caden's zipper is glowing.
 Lindsay & Brienna.
I loved that the fire really warmed everyone up!  They're glowing!
 Awesome friends--Lindsay & Brienna

 Zane roasting hot dogs.
I hope Zane feels better for the game tomorrow!
