Lost: my voice

I need to find a better time to up date my blog--other than around midnight or later!! But there doesn't seem to be another time when I am not constantly interrupted. Although I don't mind the interruptions of "please read to me, do this puzzle, play with me, hold me, draw with me...." It is the other interruptions--"she hit me; mooommmm--he is bugging me!! etc."--that bug me.
It has been a busy week and weekend (but when is it not busy?).

Our pinewood derby went well, long, but well. There are a few things I will change for next year, but overall, the boys had fun and I survived. The microphone didn't work (had too much feedback) so I just talked really loud. This was Wed., Jan. 28th, and since then, I have been not feeling well. I developed a head cold that hit quickly and hard Thursday night. It was all in the sinus' and I hate having to blow my nose so often. Thank goodness for Puffs plus w/lotion.

Friday I got the children to their Friday club activities, did a load of laundry and got ready to go to town with Rusty. We had Ethan babysit Emmalee and we took Benjamin. We left shortly after 1 pm. We ate at Quizno's (we had a coupon buy a sub/get one free) and then I went in the music store while Rusty watched Ben in the van (the baby was sleeping). I needed to look for a few things for piano lessons and I had a $20 bonus/gift certificate that expired Jan. 31st. I wasn't as long as I could have been, but my nose wasn't cooperating. Then we went to Home Depot where I stayed in the van and Rusty went inside. He bought a new door knob because our back one isn't working.

This past weekend I lost my voice. And no matter how hard I looked, I couldn't find it!! lol. I even drank and drank my choice of medicine--remember?--that's right: orange juice. Today I almost had it back, but after 4 piano lessons, I am afraid I am back to a soft whisper.

If anyone finds it for me, go ahead and keep it. I have actually enjoyed having to be quiet and not being able to yell at the kids. It has been funny to watch the children whisper back to me at times because I am whispering. Then they remember that they can be as loud as they want.

For singing time Sunday I am going to have the children help me find my voice, and have a hidden picture of a singing woman in the room. It was a challenge to introduce and teach and new song (and it was a hymn!) to the children. But I think some of them know some of it now.

Well, hopefully I'll get to update everyone more later, and I really am trying to get to this more often!!

I love my sisters & their families, miss them terribly, and am finally getting cabin fever!

Well, I'm off to bed to see I can find my voice in my dreams.
