Eastern Idaho State Fair--Sept. 1, 2012
Saturday, September 1st we went to the State Fair in Blackfoot. Brienna and Lindsay Farr went with Pamela early because Brienna never received a schedule of when her demonstration was.
It wasn't until the afternoon, so we had all day to see the exhibits and ride a few rides.
Brienna took 2nd place (although everyone there thought she deserved 1st) and won the Homemaker's Award ($25 dollars award). Afterwards, we went to Melina's to eat (yum, yum!!!)
This is what we did before the demonstration:

Callum's 12th Birthday
Callum turned 12 on Sept. 25, 2012. I can't believe it has been 12 years!
Callum wanted a cake that looked like his fort. Since Brienna has been taking the dual credit class along with her other school work and activities,
she didn't have time to make/decorate a cake. So instead of a "professional", Callum got the "amateur" version.
I thought it turned out "okay"
What it lacked in aesthetic value, it made up for it on taste!

And making a wish as he blows out the candles. Grandma & Grandpa Carter came over on Friday, the 28th for the weekend (for his priesthood ordination) and left on Monday, Oct. 1st.
Football Games Sept. 2012
What a great picture--the team at attention for the national anthem. The Bobcats played North Gem at home.
We won, 26-12. This was on September 6th. The weather had been so warm, and practices in the heat of the afternoon. But just as the boys were warming up, there was some cloud cover and it cooled down into the "comfort" zone!
Mrs. Lacassio (from school) congratulating Zane & Jake Mickelsen. Zane had 3 tackles in this game. In the game the week before (Aug. 31st) against Rockland, Zane had 2 tackles.
This game is on Sept. 14th against Sho-Ban. Zane played the trumpet with his band teacher (Mr. Germer). I have video of it I might post later.

Zane at then end of the game. Then the boys went to Dietrich (which is near Twin Falls) and so Rusty and I didn't go to that one. The boys lost 0-48, but Zane did get a tackle in the game. Dietrich is ranked number one in the state (in our class & division) and I heard they had a great passing game--which our boys need to work on the defense of a passing game.
On Sept. 28th, our boys went to Mackay. It is the "closest" away game (2 hours) and my parents were here so my dad drove. Rusty stayed home with the kids and Pamela also went in Mom & Dad's car.
My camera "broke" (the zoom doesn't work) so these are pictures with my iPod. And the videos I took of the game are far from quality video because I was using the Flip camera & it was zoomed all the way in (which isn't very close still).
But the boys played an honorable game--and won 48-0 (the mercy rule--when you are 45 points ahead--was called with 7 minutes left in the game) and Zane played mostly in the second half. He ended up with 1 tackle (they don't have the stats for assisted tackles because he was involved in a lot of them!)
The boys made history with the first win against the Mackay Miners (as far as we know). There were a couple of good articles in the paper about the game. I'll have to scan them in another post.
Zane had a couple of tackles on the last game on Oct. 5th and a couple of assistant tackles also.
This next week will be a busy week since it is Homecoming. The boys play Richfield on Friday.
