FREE STUFF!! Giving Away My "Junk"

I know I haven't updated my blog in a while, but I have been de-junking & cleaning since I've been back from Girl's Camp.

I hope to get to some updates after I do some major cleaning.  

(I already have giving a ton of stuff to the thrift store & thrown away twice what I donated!!)

I have been holding on to some of this STUFF for many, many years thinking I'll get to it one day.  But that one day hasn't come yet, and I need to take some of my space back!

Felt owls, foam owls & a roll of raffia  

 Clifford material with a panel of red--I bought this to make a small "travel" quilt for Callum when he was little (I know--just about 10 years too late!)

 This material is probably about 2-3 yards??  Not for sure.

 These also are bigger pieces of material.

Flannel--a few yards (maybe even more) but it's a thinner flannel

 black polyester--I bought this to make a Harry Potter cape for Ethan (sorry Ethan!)

These are smaller pieces--maybe 1 yard or less 

 Enough to make a skirt or dress for a younger girl.

The pale yellow is a big piece--many yards.  The other--a couple yards possibly.

Ok--I know these are dated.  I made these when I first got married (and shortly before!) 

3 women dress patterns & a renaissance costume pattern.

Everything is up for grabs.  If I don't give them away by the end of June, then they will be donated to the thrift store!

May Re-Cap--Class, Piano Recital, District Track & Mother's Day Weekend

The first weekend of May I took a class at Crater's of the Moon.  Every 5 years I need to take 6 credits to keep my teaching certificate current (and also pay a fee)

Although we did meet in a classroom/training room at the visitor's center, we were outside a lot.

You can't really tell from the picture, but the rocks had blue streaks all over them!  It was beautiful!

Now I just need to finish my assignment so I can receive the credit!  The class was 2 days, so the first day I drove (Tarri Leonardson--the 3rd grade teacher went with me) & then on Saturday she drove.  So it was nice.  When I drove, there were 2 semi's that could have very easily flipped over--they drifted off the edge of the road & their trailers leaned & swerved.  Scary!  And then on one stretch of the highway, a car coming towards us passed at the top of a hill & didn't have enough time--I slowed down to 40 mph & went to the very edge of the road before it cut back into it's own lane.  I need to stop driving!!!!!

Sunday was my piano recital--I had 18 students perform--and 1 extra that is learning from her mom.

Brienna & Josey are my 2 seniors that won't be with me next year.  I'm so proud of all my students (The 3 Mickelsen boys are not pictured--they actually couldn't make it, but had their own piano recital for their parents & brother at home.  Amy took pictures of them to share with me)

 Then that Thursday (May 8th) was district track.  This was a great picture of some of the boys watching the high jump (Coach Carpenettie & Jim Farley on the right).  It was a beautiful day (even with the wind!) and I ended up with a sunburn on my nose (forgot to sunblock it!) and oddly enough, on my forehead.  I guess the wind blew my hair up enough so that the sun got to it!

 I had Ben with me (and I also took Amy Mickelsen) and he had a blast running around the track--probably 8 times???  and then when races were going, he had fun playing in the field.

 Zane running the 100 (13.85 seconds--his fasted was 13.62).  I videoed his high jump & 300 hurdles so I don't have pictures of that.  But he got a PR (personal record) in the hurdles--50.15 seconds.  Each time he did the hurdles, he shaved seconds off his time.  Pretty good considering that we don't even have enough hurdles to put up for the boys to practice with!

For Mother's Day weekend, the kids made me breakfast in bed.

 French toast with strawberries (super yummy) and link sausage.  It was delicious!  Then I had to go to church early so we could practice the song we sang during Sacrament meeting (the Relief Society sisters).  We sang "She Put the Music in Me" by Calee Reed.  I actually played the piano (didn't know I was going to until a few day before!)  I love that song!

 After church, Brienna (mostly her) made lunch--homemade mac & cheese & beef hot dogs.  (I would have picked tacos--but we had it just a few days earlier).  Ethan & Tiffany came home & then I opened presents.  A new night shirt!  The kids made me some cute cards & treasures out of wooden shapes & popcicle sticks.  And I also got some sugar-free candies.

Ethan & Tiffany gave me this shirt--so, so, so true!  It was a super great day.  Had fun visiting with the family & then Brienna made 2 cheesecakes--one with coconut sugar (doesn't affect your blood sugars & made from coconut blossoms) & then a "normal" one.  One of the best Mother's Day's I've had in a long time (I really don't even think the kids did any bickering & fighting & everyone pitched in to help).

Prom 2014

I have been missing in action for a while.  Life seems to have been getting the best of me lately.  I thought things would slow down after the wedding--but they didn't!

So here are the prom pictures from the last Saturday of April (the 26th)

 The back of the dress.  It was a rainy weekend--pretty much rained since Thursday.  So it was damp & humid & her hair didn't hold the curl very well.

Brienna went to prom with Jake Mickelsen.  He is such a great young man!

Brienna has always been beautiful--but she has been working hard since the beginning of the year (exercising & eating healthy) & has lost a lot of weight!

How Jake asked her to prom--she had to give him the cupcake with her answer.  And she said, "Heck Yes!"  They had a fun time in town bowling, watching a movie & eating at The Stockman.

Ethan & Tiffany's Wedding--April 12, 2014

I haven't posted anything from the month of March because I have been busy preparing for this special day!
